Desexing
 

We can spay your female cat from 3 months of age and your female dog from 6 months. We do prefer your dogs to be older and have had at least one heat as this lessens the occurrence of incontinence and other developmental issues. 
 
Male cats can be castrated from 3 months.
 
We prefer male dogs to be around 9 months for medium breeds and 1 year for large breeds so they have had plenty of time to develop and grow. If your dog is showing behavioural signs related to hormones, we will castrate him from 6 months old.
 
All of our spays and castrations have a full clinical examination prior to surgery and an anesthetic plan designed to provide optimum safety and special attention to pain management before and after surgery.
